CAST PARTICIPATION

Rehearsal schedule is typically two weeknights from 6:30 – 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00pm, with a lunch break.

 

Weekly rehearsals typically last 7-8 weeks unless extended by holidays.  A full schedule of rehearsal dates and cast calls is given out within the first week of rehearsals. Rehearsal days and times are subject to change when necessary. Not all cast members are called at every rehearsal.

All rehearsals are held at the OCEAA charter school campus, 825 Broadway, Santa Ana.
 

Tech Week is held on Sunday through Thursday the week prior to opening day from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
 

Performances are held on Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday afternoon or evening at the Ebell Theater in Santa Ana.
 

There is a $375 participation fee if cast in the full show and a $200 fee for Junior Troupe. There are no other fundraisers, ticket sales quotas, or costume fees. Additional expenses may include the optional cast T-shirt, show photos, and special character shoes (if required).
 

Broadway on Tour provides a professional director, choreographer, vocal director and costumer for each show.
 

All families are required to donate a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer work prior to Tech Week. This includes costume work, set construction, prop work, and publicity.
 

All families are required to volunteer to work a portion of the show dates. This can include ushers, snack-bar, costumes, or tech crew.
 

BOT collects (2) $150 deposit checks for meeting volunteer hours, which are returned when you have met your volunteer commitment. Family members other than parents can fulfill volunteer hours (siblings, grandparents, family friends).

If you are unable to fulfill your volunteer commitment, your check is cashed and used to pay community or BOT alumni staff.
